So this one time, my friend was clearing her closet and was planning to throw away the books and comics, which made me rather sad. I’m sure she was sad too because well she looked sad, but that’s besides the point. The point is, I managed to convince her to not sell it to a raddiwala and make some money of it. Instead, I asked her to donate it to people who really need the stuff, that person is me! Anyway, I somehow managed to convince her and now I have a stash of Archie Comics, most of which I have read. So the other day I went to check out the preview showcase of the latest furniture collection by Zayin Home Living in association with GoodHomes Magazine India in Andheri West, Mumbai. As I’ve always been interested in interior designing, (I think it’s a girl thing, every girl is an inherent interior designer) I was really happy to get the chance to see some super-fine pieces of furniture which I hope to adorn my house with someday. Oh boy,was I pleased! The representative from Zayin Home Living gave me a complete tour of the store with interesting stories behind every furniture on display. The leading magazine on interiors in India, GoodHomes Magazine India, tagged their favourite pieces in the store too! Basically every piece of furniture looked like art in solid form! No kidding, check some of the exclusive pictures out for yourself!

Our love affair with EDM began as an underground scene where just a few people would head to a tiny club to listen to their favourite DJ (who’d rarely make an appearance in India) and dance their heart out! Things have obviously changed for the better as the EDM scene has only grown here! That is why as a mature 24 year old I’m listing down 10 books every girl should definitely read once in her lifetime. Seriously, these books are therapy! So whenever you feel low, pick one of these beauties and prepare to get inspired!

1) Bossypants

Tina Fey is my idol, so it’s obvious why I was one of the first few Indians to pre-order her autobiography Bossypants! Even if you’re not as big a fan of the woman as I am or even if you haven’t heard of Tina Fey (now I’m judging you) just go and buy this book. It’ll make you laugh your ass off, but will also put light on the fact that it’s not easy being funny. I really don’t know why Tina and Amy Poehler aren’t running for President and Vice President in America!

As you might already know, *insert drumroll here* we have a TV show! Every Friday, you can get a peek into what we do at work on the show called MissMalini’s World which airs on TLC at 7:30 p.m. While we were all nervous with anticipation days before the first episode was set to air, MissMalini decided to bring all our friends and supporters together for a viewing party. And since on a daily basis, we’d watch the show at home in our living rooms, we decided to take everyone to The Drawing Room at Pali Hill for a viewing – the only living room that could fit in all of us!

That’s not all, as a surprise, MissMalini even had a BBlunt station set up for everyone to get their hair done and some Maybelline makeup for our transformations – it doesn’t matter where you get it, who can say no to a makeover?

This Video of a Man’s Dreams Coming True is Sure to Give You Hope

Every once in a while we come across an inspiring story that puts a smile on our face. And if you need a little pick-me-up this Monday, or just something to give you hope that things do work out in the end, then you have to check out this video! The folks over at RED FM came across a musician begging in the train, and were so impressed with his talent that they asked him to come play live on air. We hear he was skeptical at first when they invited him to the radio station, but eventually went with them and performed for everyone to hear. It’s what happens next, though, that’s truly awesome – watch this clip to see how this guy’s dreams came true. :)

Remember the old ‘Maaaa’ and ‘Babujiii’ heart attacks shown in our movies? Of course you do, we grew up on that jazz. More often than not, it’s the older man clutching his chest seemingly in the throes of a heart attack while he completes his 7 page monologue. Looks outlandish, but deep down most of us think this happens only to ‘old people’. We’ve grown up on the thought that a heart attack only happens when a person is 60 and has hair as white as Edward Cullen’s skin. Until we hit that age, most of us like to do the whole ‘YOLO’ thing or whatever the kids call it these days.

But I think now is the time we get a reality check.

So I’m hoping to work my way BACK into the glittery spotlight, even if I have to get there on my hands and knees! Please wish me luck, or better yet, come join me! We had the BEST time today at the neon rain dance in town for the Monsoon Funk batches (Go Pro footage coming soon!) I finally met Marzi Pestonji (Shiamak’s ace choreographer and Dance India Dance judge) who was super sweet and very funny. He also managed to drag me into the rain to dance and I’m so glad he did!
